Position Summary:

Novus is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer with strong experience in LNG, gas processing, or petrochemical facilities. The successful candidate will provide process design, optimization, and technical support for new and existing facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations.

This role supports all project phases—from commissioning to operations—by developing process models, documentation, and solutions that drive performance improvements and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Design & Engineering

· Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and heat and material balances.

· Perform process simulations and equipment sizing using tools

· Prepare and review process design deliverables, including line lists, process datasheets, and cause & effect diagrams.

· Conduct process safety and operability studies, including HAZOPs, HAZIDs, and SIL reviews.

· Provide technical input for process design packages, equipment selection, and vendor document reviews.

Project Execution & Technical Support

· Support process design during FEED, detailed engineering, and EPC phases.

· Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, marine, etc.) to ensure process integrity and system integration.

· Support factory acceptance tests (FATs), commissioning, and startup activities.

· Ensure all process designs meet applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (API, ASME, NFPA 59A, etc.).

Operations & Optimization

· Provide process engineering support for operating LNG or gas facilities, troubleshooting plant upsets and performance deviations.

· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance throughput, energy efficiency, and reliability.

· Analyze plant data to optimize liquefaction performance, BOG recovery, and refrigeration efficiency.

· Support Management of Change (MOC) and root cause analysis (RCA) processes for operational incidents.

Safety, Compliance & Environmental Stewardship

  • Ensure designs and operations comply with process safety management (PSM) standards and HSE policies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.
  • Support process documentation and regulatory compliance reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience: 8–15 years of experience in process engineering within LNG, gas processing, or petrochemical facilities.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer in cryogenic and hydrocarbon systems.
  • Experience with gas treatment, liquefaction, fractionation, and refrigeration cycles (e.g., C3MR, SMR, or DMR).
  • Proficiency with process simulation software
  • Familiarity with industry standards (API, NFPA 59A, ASME, OSHA PSM).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills with strong attention to safety and operational detail.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE or P. Eng) license or eligibility; experience supporting LNG facility operations or startup.
