As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in need of support. What you'll do
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming to promote personal hygiene and comfort.
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client conditions to ensure their health and safety.
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to enhance the social well-being of clients.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within living spaces to create a safe environment.
- Administer medications as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations for client confidentiality.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring that all aspects of care are addressed effectively.
- Use equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely for transferring clients when necessary.
Basic qualifications
- Experience in caregiving or direct support roles is essential.
- Familiarity with first aid and CPR techniques is preferred.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, or autism is highly valued.
- Knowledge of memory care practices and dementia care strategies is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
