Quality Engineer | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $69,000 - $103,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Delta Township that are seeking skilled Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for non-conformances.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage supplier quality, including qualification, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including inspection plans, work instructions, and quality records.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with core quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, 8D).
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant quality management systems (e.g., IATF 16949, AS9100).
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Proficiency with advanced statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Experience with MES/ERP systems and their integration with quality processes.
  • Programming skills (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis or automation.
  • Demonstrated experience in supplier quality development and management.
