We are currently seeking a Claims Support Specialist to join our Claims Support Services team
As a Claims Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing clerical support to Claims Examiners to help deliver more effective and efficient claims processing to injured workers and policyholders.
We'll be looking for YOU to:
- Request claim files through SIF's internal database and sort utilizing Adobe Pro.
- Manage and review document process for lump sum settlements utilizing Adobe Pro, Excel and SIF's internal database. Uploading and managing the approval process utilizing the Industrial Commission's portal.
- Manage multiple Outlook inboxes and complete incoming email requests, which can include combining PDF documents, burning CDs, and printing documents.
- Review returned mail and update addresses as needed in the spreadsheet and disburse returned mail to the supervisor.
- Collect, copy, and mail out letters and documents to the appropriate party on behalf of the Claims Examiners.
- Collect batch letters and appropriate documents to be stuffed and folded for daily mailings.
- Request past medical documents by creating a medical records request letter utilizing SIF's internal database.
- Use SIF's internal database to enroll policyholders into our SIFCare program.
- Prepare and transfer documents electronically to external partners.
- Serve as back up for other Claims Clerical positions as needed to include claims registration, registration phone queue, indexing documents and Word processing.
Your background should include:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a medical office, hospital, skilled nursing or legal office preferred.
- Knowledge of medical and legal terminology is preferred.
- Proficiency using desktop applications, e.g., Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Adobe Pro, to generate and sort emails, create forms/letters, reports, and presentations as well as search and download information from the internet.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in a business setting.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
