Astris AI, a strategic subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, commercializes LAIC's AI/ML products and services to expand capabilities for both internal and external customers through strategic industry partnerships. Operating under LMEvolve—Lockheed Martin's corporate initiative to leverage key competencies for dual-use applications—Astris AI collaborates with commercial partners to support critical customer missions.
Position Overview
The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will serve as a strategic business leader responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion for Astris AI. This executive role requires an individual who can function as a true C-suite leader, combining deep business acumen with strategic vision to commercialize cutting-edge AI/ML technologies in the defense, aerospace, and commercial markets.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market strategies to achieve revenue targets, market penetration, and business viability objectives
- Identify and pursue new market segments and customer opportunities across government, aerospace, defense, and commercial sectors
- Lead strategic partnerships and industry collaborations to enhance competitive positioning
Sales Leadership & Revenue Management
- Build and lead a high-performing sales organization
- Manage sales pipeline including accurate forecasting, revenue tracking, and regular leadership reporting
- Cultivate and close complex, high-value business opportunities with external customers
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in target organizations
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution
- Partner with LAIC and other stakeholders to develop compelling customer proposals and presentations
- Deliver persuasive presentations and technical briefings to customers, partners, and stakeholders
- Provide market intelligence and competitive analysis to inform product development and strategic decision-making
Market Intelligence & Innovation
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving customer requirements to ensure competitive relevance
- Identify opportunities for commercial improvements and additional features to core LAIC capabilities
- Drive innovation in go-to-market approaches and customer engagement strategies
This position requires frequent business travel and report to the Astris AI subsidiary.
Basic Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field
- Progressive leadership experience in software sales and/or business development
- Proven track record of achieving significant revenue growth
Industry & Domain Expertise
- Technology industry experience with understanding of commercial markets
- Deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and customer decision-making processes
- Ability to interpret sales metrics and market data for decision-making
Leadership & Business Capabilities
- Demonstrated C-suite or senior executive experience
- Experience building and leading high-performing sales and marketing teams
- Strategic planning and execution experience with measurable business outcomes
- Excellence in managing complex relationships across multiple constituencies
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for executive audiences
Desired Skills
- Experience selling AI / MLOps software to USG / DoD customers
- Understanding of the USG FAR and Federal contracting processes and standards
- Experience implementing AI solutions with USG agencies and have familiarity with the relevant federal procurement agencies and organizations
Other Information
- Remote Work – Full-time remote role; up to 25+% travel for customer meetings, team off-sites, and industry events.
- Compensation – Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus. Final package will reflect experience, location, and market benchmarks.
