Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately and report any abnormalities to nursing staff.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in EMR/EHR systems.
- Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or behavioral health needs.
- Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care and other invasive tasks to prevent infection.
- Assist with medical procedures including phlebotomy and specimen collection as needed.
- Support patient safety by adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of medical records and documentation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, or post-acute care units.
- Use medical terminology accurately while documenting patient information and care activities.
- Assist in patient education regarding health management and recovery plans.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards across all patient interactions.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent licensure required.
- Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, hospice care, acute or sub-acute settings preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques essential for delivering safe patient care.
- Prior experience with specialized populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as ICU, PICU, ORs, or emergency departments.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work compassionately with patients of all ages—including pediatrics—and their families.
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards related to medical records and documentation. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to make a meaningful difference in patient lives while advancing their healthcare careers through hands-on experience in diverse clinical settings.
Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
