Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School ELA Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in literacy education and instructional design, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, implementing curriculum, and supporting students in their academic growth. The teacher will work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and promote effective communication within the school community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and engage students in critical thinking and analysis.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and promotes literacy skills.
  • Utilize research-based instructional strategies to support diverse learners and enhance their understanding of English Language Arts.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to design curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education.
  • Maintain organized records of student performance and lesson plans.

Requirements

  • Experience working with middle school students is preferred.
  • Strong skills in research, copy editing, and organizational tasks.
  • Proficiency in instructional design and lesson planning tailored for diverse learning styles.
  • Background in literacy education is essential; experience in private school settings is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating initiative.
