Description:

To oversee the implementation, compliance, and instructional support related to Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs at BridgePrep Academy schools in the North Florida region. The ESE Manager will ensure all aspects of ESE services meet state and federal guidelines while supporting school staff in serving students with disabilities effectively.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations related to ESE identification, placement, services, and reporting.
  • Monitor student data and records to ensure accuracy and timely submission for FTE and compliance purposes.
  • Support BridgePrep Academy schools in need with developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Conduct periodic audits of ESE documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and implement systems to monitor student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of ESE services.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of professional development related to ESE best practices, instructional strategies, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to school-based ESE Coordinators and instructional staff.
  • Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, manifestation determinations, and other student-centered planning meetings as needed.
  • Support school teams in developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).
  • Serve as a liaison between schools, district representatives, and families for matters related to exceptional student education.
  • Maintain secure, accurate student records in accordance with FERPA and IDEA requirements.
  • Stay current with laws, regulations, literature, and practices related to special education.
  • Travel to school campuses as needed to provide support and ensure program fidelity.
  • Ensure compliance with all child welfare reporting and safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or designee.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field (Master's Degree preferred)
  • Florida Certification in Exceptional Student Education (ESE)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in teaching or leading in ESE settings
  • Strong understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and related state and federal laws

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the ESE referral, eligibility, and placement process
  • Experience developing and reviewing IEPs and BIPs
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with disabilities
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across school sites
  • Proficiency in using student information systems and ESE documentation platforms
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
  • Bilingual skills preferred

Physical Requirements: Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move
