Job Overview

FIBERTEK is seeking a dedicated and skilled Laborer/Operator to join our team in New Albany, Ohio. This role involves open cut trenching, operating heavy machinery, and performing various tasks on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience with equipment operation, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely. Pay is based on experience. Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment such as 30,000lb trackhoe, 13,000lb mini, front end loader, and to support construction activities.
  • Perform digging and building tasks as required by project specifications.
  • installing 12x12 and 6x6 manholes, laying up to (30) 6" 4" or 2" conduit in open trench dirt/ pavement
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and functionality of machinery, including equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety standards.
  • Assist in site preparation, including clearing debris and organizing materials for construction.
  • Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment on the construction site.

Skills

  • Proficient in heavy equipment operation, specifically trackhoe and loader operation.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain machinery effectively.
  • Experience working with shore boxs and other construction-related equipment license/CDL is preferred.
  • Ability to dig, build, and perform various physical tasks associated with labor-intensive work.
  • Familiarity with construction site protocols and safety regulations.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues on-site.
