Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Host/Cashier to join our team at the New Rochelle Diner. This role is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests, managing reservations, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and guest relations, with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering memorable dining experiences.

Duties

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage seating arrangements efficiently
  • Manage guest inquiries via phone with professional phone etiquette and provide accurate information about the menu and services
  • Process payments accurately at the cashier station and issue receipts
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting area
  • Assist with guest inquiries, special requests, and seating preferences to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Uphold hospitality standards by providing excellent guest services, fostering positive guest relations, and ensuring guest comfort throughout their visit

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a host/host or in food service is preferred
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality
  • Experience with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional appearance and friendly demeanor
  • Previous experience in hotel or restaurant guest services is advantageous
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings if required
