Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Testing & Analysis: Accurately perform and document all required tests on production batches and raw materials within defined timelines. Analyze and interpret results, identifying and reporting both in-spec and out-of-spec data to ensure product quality.
  • Method Proficiency: Demonstrate competence in executing established test methods with precision. Utilize good judgment in all testing activities to ensure consistency and reliability of results.
  • Raw Material Assessment: Conduct raw material tests following the appropriate methodologies, and place non-conforming materials on hold, communicating any necessary actions to relevant departments.
  • Product Retain Management: Organize, stock, and manage the product retain area, ensuring samples are properly labeled, stored, and readily accessible for future reference.
  • Equipment Calibration & Maintenance: Regularly verify lab equipment performance against industry standards. Promptly report any deviations or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
  • Compliance & Safety: Support and adhere to the ISO Management Systems, Safety Systems, and other regulatory compliance standards. Promote and maintain a safe and orderly work environment in the lab.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of lab supplies, restocking as necessary and placing orders to maintain adequate supplies.
  • Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work different shifts, including covering for vacations, overtime, and unplanned absences as required.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lab, ensuring all test equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
  • Additional Tasks: Assist in other laboratory tasks and projects as assigned by the Quality Laboratory Manager, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the lab.

Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field is strongly preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 2 year of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in quality control or analytical testing within a manufacturing or production environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in standard laboratory practices and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of chemical analysis, material properties, and quality assurance principles.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and safety protocols in a lab setting.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Good mathematical skills for accurate data interpretation and analysis.
  • Competent in using computer systems and software applications related to laboratory work, including data entry and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Must wear protective or safety equipment, including lab coats, gloves, and goggles, as required.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs. manually and unassisted.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure environment, managing stress and multitasking efficiently.
  • Willingness to work rotating night shifts, including weekends, as part of a 24/7 operational schedule
