Liberation Programs is seeking a Full Time Nurse for our busy outpatient clinic in Stamford, CT. The shift is (approximately) Monday to Friday, 11am-7:30pm. The staff Nurse helps carry out the agency mission and duties of the medical services unit.

DUTIES

Methadone Outpatient Clinic

  • Provide "back-up" and relief for the methadone dispensing nurse
  • Dose via Avatar and hand dose in emergency situations
  • Calibrate equipment and close out for the day
  • Document in Avatar as needed
  • Document in AWARDS as needed to provide medical care coordination
  • Provide patient education on medications, side effects, medical conditions.
  • Lead "wellness" efforts for clients

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current CT Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) .
  • Three to five years of direct patient care in hospital, primary care, psychiatric facility or home care. Experience in substance abuse/methadone dispensing preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles of addiction treatment. Practical experience in the field of addiction treatment is preferred.
  • A work history that demonstrates leadership, accomplishment and the ability to get work accomplished on time and within predetermined specifications.
  • Computer skills, with demonstrated ability with Microsoft Outlook.
  • Familiarity with methadone dispensing software, Accumedic preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills along with the interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization and its stakeholders.

Schedule: M-F 10:30am-7:00pm
