Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Gorilla Handler Monkey Animal to join our team in a dynamic and engaging environment. This role involves managing and caring for our primate animals, ensuring their well-being, safety, and enrichment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal handling, warehouse management, or related fields, with the ability to operate heavy equipment and utilize warehouse management systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with exotic animals while supporting operational logistics within our facility.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle and care for Gorilla and Monkey animals, ensuring their health and safety at all times
- Maintain accurate inventory management of animal supplies, food, and enrichment materials
- Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers for materials handling and stock movement
- Manage warehouse distribution tasks including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, picking & packing, and stock replenishment
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to track inventory and facilitate order processing
- Assist with loading and unloading supplies or animals using appropriate heavy equipment while adhering to OSHA safety standards
- Support warehouse operations including mechanical maintenance, packaging, construction-related tasks, and inventory control
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and animal handling procedures
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow efficiency and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse management, distribution, or manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating heavy equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), AS400, RF scanners, OSHA standards, and inventory control practices
- Experience in stock management including stocking, order picking & packing, shipping & receiving
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for materials handling tasks
- Knowledge of construction or mechanical systems is a plus
- Previous warehouse supervisor experience is advantageous but not required
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and animal care protocols
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment while maintaining safety standards
This role combines animal care expertise with operational logistics skills to ensure a seamless integration of wildlife management within our facility's workflow.
