About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer to join our team. This is a fully remote, production-focused role where you will manage your own work under the direction of a Project Lead. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing design and development work. Approximately 90% of this role involves design and development of learning content for American Funds Service Groups (AFSG) client services-based departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Leads and CG SMEs to analyze, design, create, and develop training programs from inception to execution.
  • Apply the ADDIE model in training design, focusing on Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.
  • Develop training content in multiple modalities: Instructor-Led Training (ILT), Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT), eLearning, self-paced modules, and virtual classrooms.
  • Design and produce high-quality videos and interactive learning experiences using tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise) and Camtasia.
  • Support content management and collaboration through Microsoft SharePoint Online.
  • Ensure all learning solutions adhere to instructional design best practices and adult learning theories.
  • Identify areas for improvement in training processes and technologies, recommending innovative solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Expertise in instructional design with emphasis on analysis, design, and development.
  • Proficient in Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise), Camtasia, and video development/editing.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Intermediate experience with MS SharePoint Online (document management).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organization, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with remote or local teams.
  • Learning agility to adapt to new assignments and technologies.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with Adobe Captivate, Audition, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Familiarity with NovoEd Learning Platform.
  • Graphic design and audio recording/editing experience.
  • Assessment/test design and development experience.
