Our Retail Shift Lead provides support and direction in operations of the dispensary, working closely with the GM and AGM to give direction and leadership toward the organization's mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have previous experience managing within a dispensary, excellent people skills, a genuine passion for the cannabis industry and the well-being of customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic direction and thought leadership to the retail organization, with a strong understanding of the market and customer needs, as well as anticipating future needs.
- Ensuring effective succession planning by identifying and developing future leaders with an interest and potential to grow.
- Develop training and reinforce service, product, operations, and management expectations through training and development of store teams.
- Ensure operational priorities, processes, and procedures are communicated, understood, and executed consistently.
- Ensure the environment and customer experience reflect the Company vision and values.
- Maintain a presence on the sales floor to effectively coach and support the dispensary team.
- Proactively collect customer feedback and use it to implement new product offerings.
- Create an environment where a personal, customer-focused, and service-oriented mentality is standard.
- Maximize retail productivity, sales, and profit, while ensuring that standards of service excellence are continuously met and improved upon.
- Recommend and implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, enhance customer experience, and maintain best-in-class practices.
- Work closely with marketing and social media teams to communicate store brand presence, incentives, events, and product offerings.
- Identify KPIs, trends, and opportunities to define changes in processes and procedures that drive operations and selling agendas.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure product and store allocations provide a cohesive strategy and brand experience to drive sales revenue opportunities.
- Handle precise cash management, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure dispensary and personnel are in accordance with company policy and state regulations, in all operations, processes, inventory management, and protocol.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including intake, processing, and reconciliation.
- Assist in managing all departments, including retail sales, inventory, and back-of-house operations.
- Understand and remain current on market demand for product offerings and ensure dispensary teams are trained to meet customer needs.
You have:
- Passion about the use of cannabis for consumers.
- Experience in medical/recreational dispensary management.
- Knowledge of California Cannabis Law (a big plus)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent people and organizational skills.
- A sense of urgency, high energy, positive attitude, solution-oriented approach to problem solving, coach able mindset, and are eager to contribute wherever there is a need.
- Inventory management experience
- Retail supervising experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency in POS systems
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of retail sales and purchasing processes
- Must be at least 21 years old
