Commercial Fire Protection is seeking a Lead Fire Life Safety Inspector in the Phoenix Arizona area. Responsibilities include testing/inspecting and servicing fire systems - including fire alarm, sprinkler, extinguishers, and other systems - to the prescribed standards; performing on-site emergency troubleshooting; programming and repairs of our customers fire alarm systems; identifying code and non-conformance issues; and preparing accurate and timely service tickets and reports.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 3+ year of experience in inspecting, servicing and troubleshooting fire alarms
  • Familiar with NFPA codes
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices
  • Preferred: Level 1 Fire Extinguisher license from the state of AZ
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals
  • Install Sprinkler mains and line piping using a variety of materials (Sch. 40 & Sch. 10 black and or galvanized pipe and fittings, CPVC pipe and fittings) per blueprint specifications
  • Install a variety of Sprinkler Systems (Wet, Dry, Deluge, Pre-action, Fire Pumps) per blueprints, specifications and building codes
  • Install valves, devices and trim for system risers, alarm valves, dry pipe valves, Pre-action valves, and Backflow Prevention devices
  • Installs sprinkler heads for a wide range of applications per blueprint and knowledge of applicable sprinkler codes
  • Knowledgeable of NFPA 13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20, & 25
  • Knowledgeable in the installation of Steel pipe, CPVC, C-900 & ductile iron piping
  • Proficient in the use of Pipe Threaders, Groovers, hand and power tools
  • Be knowledgeable and adhere to all OSHA and CFP's Safety Standards 
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service, strong organization skills, and positive attitude
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements
  • Pass a pre-employment background check
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred

  • Fire Extinguisher License (State of AZ).
  • NICET Certifications and Other Fire Certifications
  • Backflow Certifications is a plus.
