Advanced Technical Ceramics Company specializes in strong, durable, and precise ceramics for challenging environments. Advanced applications demand precision. Our high reliability products advance numerous technologies with recent improvements in metallization, plating, and sealing processes. Advanced Technical Ceramics is AS9100 and Nadcap certified. We are currently looking for a Saw Technician I with strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality to work in the saw department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Meets or exceeds all requirements of a Production Operator III.
* Performs job responsibilities under limited supervision and guidance.
* Responsible for the safe, efficient and quality production of products within the assigned department.
* Follows all standard operating procedures and accurately records all data required for maintaining the quality of the products and process.
* Reads and interprets all product data, including blue prints and the PCS prior to beginning the setup of the equipment.
* Verifies that all tooling and materials selected are correct and are of quality sufficient to meet required specifications.
* Sets up and operates equipment based on blueprints, OI's and the PCS.
* Responsible for maintaining departmental rates, standards, yields and quality of the product and process.
* Measures product features during the process to maintain product specifications using the most appropriate measurement tool for the task.
* Adjusts and aligns equipment as necessary during process.
* Approves and signs off on jobs; performs audit on products.
* Analyzes problems with equipment, materials and chemicals and makes corrections, adjustments or replacements within the employees training and capability.
* Trains in chemical and hazardous waste handling applicable to the department. (i.e. mixing chemicals, changing chemicals, cleanup, etc)
* Cleans equipment as necessary to maintain a quality product.
* Identifies and transfers materials and equipment to and from department.
* Assists Engineers (as directed by Area Coordinator or Supervisor) with samples or equipment tests.
* Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge; trains other employees.
* Refers questions and problems to higher levels.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND SKILL RECOMMENDATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
· High school education or GED preferred, plus one or more of the following: technical certificate or degree; military experience in a technical area; or an industrial mechanic's certificate or a minimum of one year experience as a Production Operator III within the assigned department.
· Intermediate language and math skills.
· Proficient computer/data processing skills.
· Basic programming, editing and the ability to interface with programmable controllers preferred.
· General working knowledge of machinery/special tools.
· Strong ability for close attention to detail and utilization of analytical techniques.
· Strong problem solving skills and technical ability to monitor and troubleshoot departmental processes.
· Ability to accurately interpret and record data.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
· Recommended vision corrected to 20/20 (contact lens not allowed in plant).
· Willingly accepts high level of responsibility associated with this position.
· Positive attitude, with good interpersonal communication skills.
· Must meet all training requirements as defined by department.
· Willingness and ability to train others as required.
· Use of microscope for extended periods of time
