Job Overview

This is a job shop NOT a production facility.

Looking for a machinist that can do set-ups on mill or lathe.

Haas machines on shop floor, 2 five axis UMC"S

If you can set-up mill or lathe efficiently let's talk.

What you'll do

  • Operate CNC milling machines and lathes to manufacture parts according to specifications.
  • Program CNC machines using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Perform electrical discharge machining as needed for complex components.
  • Maintain tooling and equipment for optimal performance, including routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and lean manufacturing initiatives to improve processes.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and forklifts safely in the production environment.

Basic qualifications

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with a solid understanding of machining processes
  • Familiarity with Mastercam or similar CAD software for design purposes.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.

Preferred qualifications

  • Haas knowledge helpful
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency.
  • Previous experience working with precision measuring instruments in a manufacturing setting.
