Apple Crate Naturals is a well-established community health food store dedicated to inspiring healthier communities by connecting people to real food and natural alternatives. With over 25 years in business we recently expanded to our new 8,500 sq. foot market. This larger location allows us to better serve our community with an expanded kitchen, fresh food programs, and an enhanced shopping experience.

As a Cafe Team Member, you will be an essential part of our kitchen team, preparing fresh, high-quality food for our made to order beverage and sandwich programs. Your role will directly contribute to our mission of providing clean and delicious options to our customers. Position Overview: Café Team Member

We are seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented Café Team Members to join our growing team at Apple Crate Naturals. This versatile role encompasses responsibilities from both our Beverage and Sandwich Programs. As a Café Team Member, you will prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, smoothies, and fresh juices, craft made-to-order sandwiches, and maintain our hot bar to ensure it remains well-stocked, fresh, and visually appealing throughout the day. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming, customer-centered experience while ensuring cleanliness and food safety standards are met.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about customer service and food preparation, enjoys working with health-conscious, organic ingredients, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position requires multitasking, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve coffee, smoothies, fresh juices, and other beverages with accuracy and consistency.
• Assemble made-to-order sandwiches, ensuring each meets our high standards for taste, presentation, and quality.
• Maintain the hot bar by ensuring food is fresh, well-stocked, and attractively presented throughout the day.
• Prepare grab and go sandwiches and salads for cold case.
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging warmly with customers, answering questions, and assisting with menu selections.
• Monitor inventory levels for both beverage and sandwich ingredients, and communicate with supervisors to ensure timely restocking.
• Maintain cleanliness in all café areas, including workstations, equipment, and customer-facing areas, in compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow all food safety protocols to ensure the highest quality standards are met.

Qualifications:

• Experience in food service, preferably in a barista or sandwich-making role.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with a positive and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of beverage and food preparation, with a focus on quality and presentation.
• Familiarity with organic, clean ingredients and a commitment to health-conscious options is a plus.
