Job Description: Quick Service Technician (A/C & Electrical Systems)

Location: BP Ford

BP Ford is seeking a skilled and motivated Quick Service Technician specializing in air conditioning and electrical systems to join our dynamic service team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our customers' vehicles are serviced efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing A/C and electrical issues, combined with excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Prompt and Accurate Repairs:

Complete quick service and maintenance work on Ford and other vehicle makes, with a focus on air conditioning and electrical systems.

  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:

Use diagnostic equipment, specialized tools, and testing procedures to accurately identify and resolve A/C and electrical concerns.

  • A/C System Service:

Inspect, repair, and recharge vehicle climate control systems, including compressors, condensers, and related components, following manufacturer specifications.

  • Electrical System Service:

Diagnose and repair wiring, sensors, fuses, and other electronic components to ensure reliable vehicle operation.

  • Vehicle Inspections:

Perform comprehensive multi-point inspections to detect potential issues early and recommend preventative maintenance.

  • Verification & Quality Control:

Conduct road tests to confirm repairs have been completed correctly and that vehicle performance meets Ford standards.

  • Communication & Documentation:

Clearly communicate diagnostic results, recommended services, and estimated repair times to Service Advisors. Accurately document all work performed on repair orders.

  • Workplace Organization & Safety:

Maintain a clean, organized workspace and strictly follow dealership safety protocols and procedures.

  • Continuous Learning:

Stay current on Ford technical bulletins, software updates, and training related to A/C and electrical systems to maintain peak technical proficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in automotive service or maintenance, preferably with hands-on experience in A/C and electrical systems.
  • Certifications: Ford certification or manufacturer-specific training preferred; ASE certifications are a plus.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a technical or vocational automotive program is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic data.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven skill in diagnosing complex electrical and climate control issues efficiently.
  • Work Ethic: Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work and excellent customer service.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
