Kachare Plastic Surgery office in Greenville, NC is searching for a warm, energetic and dedicated Surgical/Certified Scrub Tech/Clinical Assistant to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone who is personable, detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Initiative, professionalism, and a genuine passion for patient care are key.
About the role
As one of the primary clinical contacts for our patients, you will play an integral role in guiding individuals through every stage of their cosmetic surgery journey—from the first inquiry to their recovery and follow-up care. The position blends both clinical responsibilities and surgical duties in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required.
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Graduate of accredited school of surgical technology.
- Certified First Assist or willing to take certified first assist course.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- One or more years of patient care experience in a surgery office or
- hospital setting.
- One or two years of OR technician/technologist experience.
- Certified First Assist or willing to take Certified First Assist course.
- OR technician/technologist skills, strong technical and organizational skills
- Experience in patient information gathering, evaluation and triage
- procedures
- Proven success in the ability to read, understand, follow & enforce
- safety procedures
- ability to stand, reach or assist to transfer up to 50 pounds; ability to stand and/or walk 80-90% of an 8-hour day; visual and hearing acuity to perform job related functions.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Comfortable using email, social media and interacting with
- Internet applications
- Knowledge of word processing software and practice
- management software
- Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments
- Pleasant speaking voice and demeanor – excellent telephone skills

- valleys.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing outstanding customer service and compassionate care to patients undergoing aesthetic plastic surgery procedures
- Rooming patients and preparing them for examination by the Surgeon by capturing vital signs, providing gowns, taking photos, and starting the progress note
- Documenting health history, medications, allergies, family and social history
- Chaperoning the Surgeon during patient visits and scribing pertinent elements of the progress note
- Providing pre-operative and post-operative instructions and education to patients and caregivers
- Assisting the Surgeon with sterile in-office procedures
- Taking phone messages and responding as directed by the surgeon
- Cleaning and stocking exam rooms with necessary supplies, sterilizing instruments, and ordering clinical supplies
- Scheduling surgical procedures by coordinating with surgeons, patients, and the operating facilities
- Responsible for assuring all procedure room equipment, excluding anesthesia machine, is in ready working order for procedures.
- Assists in pulling instruments and supplies for the following day's cases
- opens and prepares sutures.
- assists surgeon throughout procedure by providing sterile instruments and supplies the surgeon requires to perform the procedure.
Responsible for being familiar with and carrying out sterilization procedures according to policy including:
- packaging and wrapping for sterilization.
- loading sterilizer for proper sterilization
- record keeping for each sterilizer load.
- appropriate notation of each load
- biological monitoring documentation and procedure
- performing cold disinfecting of instruments and supplies according to policy when appropriate.
- ensuring routine maintenance of the autoclave and other sterilization equipment and informing the Clinical Supervisor of any malfunction or possible need for repair.
