Our Merchmaster is the master of MAP package in our market. Not only is our Merchmaster responsible for keeping the shelves stocked, but this role is also charged with promoting and growing the MAP brand. In addition, our Merchmaster will be responsible for maintaining our high standard for excellent customer service for our existing accounts. Our Merchmaster is outgoing, highly organized, and self motivated, with good communication skills and a clear read on the current beer market in our area.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Account Management
  • Visit accounts weekly to foster relationships, manage inventory, and place orders
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding product info and other questions
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the Head of Sales and Beer Traffic Controller regarding orders, needs, and other sales related issues
  • Schedule regular meetings with owners, managers, and staff to educate and train accounts on our products, as well as highlight and promote new offerings
  • Manage Accounts Receivable
    • collecting payments from accounts to ensure compliance with our net 7 payment process
    • coordination with accounting for collections lists and overdue payments.
  • Track all seasonal resets at all off premise accounts and manage all transitions/changes accordingly
  • Troubleshoot issues at accounts that have kegged beer on tap, providing maintenance as needed as well.

  • Delivery and Merchandising of All Can Items at Retail Locations

  • Safely load and unload items into delivery vehicles
  • Ensure proper rotation and merchandising of items
  • Maintain floor displays and shelves, including inventory management of backstock

  • Identify Growth Opportunities within Geographic Sales Region

  • Gain distribution of new productions and continue sales of existing products
  • Gain new customer additions for both on and off-premise sales
  • Maintain an awareness of regional and seasonal needs, holiday needs, local events, etc. that may provide opportunities for increased sales
  • Maintain knowledge of current beer trends and data about sales of current products to help inform production on a quarterly basis

  • Sales Events and Promotions

  • Represent MAP at external events as necessary, which may include some weekends and evenings. This includes set up, pouring during the event, tear down, and transportation
  • Plan and execute on and off premise promotional events at accounts
  • Coordinate with marketing for event and promotional material needs
  • Support and promote MAP's mission and core values

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

Desired sales experience:

    • Sales and distribution experience selling craft beer is greatly preferred

Desired delivery experience:

    • Clean driving record required
  • Experience driving in challenging winter conditions required
  • Experience driving large delivery vans and box trucks is preferred
  • Current forklift certification is preferred

Desired draught system experience:

    • Basic draught system knowledge is greatly preferred, including:
    • Maintenance
    • Troubleshooting
    • Best practices for cleaning draught lines
