Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled
Backend Python Developer
to support and enhance mission-critical systems within the
Fixed Income and Capital Markets
domain. This role focuses on building scalable, high-performance backend services and data-driven applications that support trading, risk, pricing, and post-trade workflows. The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in fixed income products and capital markets, combined with strong Python engineering capabilities in a production financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain
    backend Python services and APIs
    supporting fixed income trading, pricing, risk, and market data platforms
  • Build and optimize data pipelines handling large-scale
    market data, reference data, and trade data
  • Collaborate with quants, traders, and risk teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Implement analytics and calculations related to
    bonds, rates, swaps, repos, and credit products
  • Ensure system performance, scalability, reliability, and low-latency processing where required
  • Integrate with upstream and downstream systems including trading platforms, market data feeds, and risk engines
  • Enforce engineering best practices including
    code quality, testing, monitoring, and documentation
  • Participate in Agile development processes and provide production support for critical trading applications

Required Qualifications

  • 4-10 years of backend development experience with
    Python
    in a financial services environment
  • Strong hands-on experience in Fixed Income and Capital Markets
    , including products such as:
  • Bonds (Treasuries, Corporates, Municipals)
  • Interest Rate Derivatives (Swaps, Futures, Options)
  • Credit products and structured instruments
  • Solid understanding of
    front-to-back trade lifecycle
    , including trade capture, pricing, risk, and settlement
  • Experience building
    RESTful APIs and backend services
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar)
  • Experience working with
    market data providers
    (Bloomberg, Reuters, ICE, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with
    quantitative libraries
    (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy)
  • Exposure to
    pricing models, yield curves, and risk metrics
    (DV01, duration, convexity)
  • Experience with
    cloud platforms
    (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Prior experience supporting
    trading desks or risk teams

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact directly with business stakeholders
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, time-sensitive trading environments
