Description

  • Provide service to individuals in their own homes and communities, who need assistance caring for themselves as a result of old age, sickness, disability, and/or other inflictions. Personal Care may include assistance with the activities of daily living, housecleaning, laundry, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, and respite
  • Responsible for ensuring service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant Agency policies and industry standards.

Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Assist with daily living and personal care (e.g., bathing, dressing, feeding, grooming, toileting, mobility, medication reminders, vital signs, and skin/nail care).
  • Ensure client safety by supervising the home environment.
  • Support meal planning and preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and errands—including handling money per care plan and supervisor guidance.
  • Provide companionship, emotional support, and encourage stimulating activities.
  • Offer respite care as outlined in care plans.
  • Accompany clients to appointments, shopping, and outings.
  • Aid with communication tasks (writing, researching) for clients.
  • Monitor supplies, observe/report client changes or unsafe conditions to Supervisor, and keep accurate records of services provided.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing program evaluation.
  • Maintain effective working relationships and follow all procedures, policies, and supervisor instructions.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge:

  • Personal care, home management, and quality client service.
  • Emergency first aid, CPR, and injury treatment techniques.
  • Clerical skills including record-keeping.
  • Proficiency in English.

Qualifications/Education

  • Certification in Personal Care (preferred, not required).
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proper Vehicle Insurance Coverage.

Training/Experience:

  • May require related experience.
  • On the job training for new activities.
