Sentinel Wealth & Tax is a boutique tax and wealth advisory firm serving high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners. We combine thoughtful tax planning, disciplined bookkeeping, and proactive client service to help clients make confident financial decisions. We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing team and learn both the bookkeeping and tax sides of the practice.

This role is ideal for a recent accounting graduate or a student in their third year or later who wants hands-on experience in a professional, client-focused environment with meaningful opportunities for advancement.

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will support our bookkeeping and tax workflows, working closely with senior team members to ensure accurate, timely, and well-organized client work. This role will progressively learn how our firm operates across bookkeeping, tax preparation, and client coordination.

This position is primarily in-office at our Bonita Springs location, with limited work-from-home flexibility during the summer and off-season.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Workflow Oversight

  • Oversee and support internal bookkeepers
  • Manage the bookkeeping pipeline within TaxDome, our practice management software
  • Move bookkeeping financials through internal pipelines as work progresses
  • Coordinate client access to bank statements and QuickBooks Online (QBO) feeds when connections fail or paper statements are required
  • Send bookkeeping review reports to clients when reviews are completed

Tax Support & Client Coordination

  • Prepare and review client-submitted tax organizers
  • Manage tax organizer reviews and track outstanding items
  • Communicate with clients regarding missing documentation during tax season
  • Prepare tax workpapers and supporting schedules
  • Assist with tax projections and planning analyses

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or currently pursuing an accounting degree (minimum third-year standing)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow structured workflows
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable working with high-net-worth clients and maintaining confidentiality

Prior bookkeeping or tax experience is not required. Training will be provided.

Work Schedule & Location

  • Office hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • No overtime required
  • In-office role in Bonita Springs, FL
  • Limited remote work available during summer and off-season periods

Compensation & Benefits

  • Part-Time / Hourly: Approximately $25 per hour (for roles under 45 hours per week)
  • Full-Time / Salaried: $50,000 – $65,000 annually, depending on experience
  • Full-time benefits include:
