POSITION PROFILE – DIRECTOR OF IMPACT INTELLIGENCE
kpCompanies is partnering with the GroundBreak Coalition on seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Impact Intelligence. We are looking for a strategic data leader to transform how we understand and communicate the impact of transformative financial systems change. This role is designed for someone who sees data not just as numbers, but as the foundation for compelling narratives about systemic change and the evidence base for continued investment.
You'll be responsible for building GroundBreak's comprehensive measurement, evaluation, and learning infrastructure—coalescing data from multiple origination partners, creating compelling visualizations, and ultimately helping us answer the critical questions: Who are we serving? What tools build wealth? Are we shifting outcomes over time, and how do we know? This isn't traditional program evaluation; it's impact intelligence that demonstrates causation and correlation in complex systems change while deepening our understanding of effective wealth-building strategies.
If you're energized by the challenge of measuring bold, ambitious strategic goals, if you excel at translating complex data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders, and if you're passionate about building the evidence base that sustains transformative social change, this role offers the opportunity to define how impact is measured and communicated in innovative coalition work.
THE ORGANIZATION – GROUNDBREAK COALITION
GroundBreak Coalition is a multi-sector collaborative committed to closing wealth gaps and unlocking capital for equitable economic development. With an intentional initial focus on building Black wealth, the Coalition mobilizes, aggregates, and deploys financial resources through guarantees, low-cost loans, and grants to support transformative financial systems change in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Measurement & Evaluation Infrastructure
- Design and implement comprehensive measurement frameworks that track progress against GroundBreak's strategic goals and theory of change
- Develop data collection systems that capture both quantitative outcomes and qualitative insights from origination partners and beneficiaries
- Create standardized reporting protocols for origination partners that ensure consistent, high-quality data across the coalition
- Establish baseline metrics and longitudinal tracking systems to measure systems change over time
Data Analysis & Intelligence
- Coalesce and analyze data from multiple origination partners to identify patterns, trends, and evidence of impact
- Conduct demographic and socioeconomic analysis to understand who GroundBreak is serving and identify gaps in reach or access
- Analyze the effectiveness of different wealth-building tools and interventions to determine which approaches generate the strongest outcomes
- Conduct rigorous analysis to determine whether GroundBreak's interventions are shifting outcomes over time
- Develop predictive models and trend analyses that inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation
- Create regular intelligence reports that provide actionable insights for leadership, board, and strategic committees
- Identify data gaps and recommend improvements to measurement systems and evaluation approaches
Impact Communication & Storytelling
- Transform complex data and evaluation findings into compelling narratives that communicate impact to diverse stakeholders
- Create data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that make impact accessible to investors, policymakers, and community partners
- Develop impact stories that demonstrate both individual beneficiary outcomes and broader systems change, highlighting who we serve and which wealth-building tools are most effective
- Prepare evidence-based materials for fundraising, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement
- Design communication strategies that effectively convey both successes and areas for improvement
- Produce insights on demographic reach and wealth-building tool effectiveness that inform strategic planning and resource allocation
Strategic Partnership & Research Collaboration
- Serve as liaison to academic partners for longitudinal case study development and peer-reviewed research
- Collaborate with researchers and evaluators to design studies that contribute to the broader field of community development finance
- Manage relationships with external evaluation partners and research institutions
- Identify opportunities for GroundBreak's impact data to inform policy and practice in the field
- Represent GroundBreak's evaluation approach at conferences and in professional networks
QUALIFICATIONS
We recognize that skill sets can be a complex combination of experiences. Even if your background does not exactly match these requirements but you have a passion for our work, we would love to hear from you and we recognize the value of transferable skills.
