Job Description

As a Security Guard - Flex Telecom Patrol in South Bend, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. Learn more: As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated tech, media, and telecom locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. You will conduct routine patrols and interact with employees and visitors, providing outstanding customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including the business areas and perimeter, to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Document and report any irregularities, such as property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized individuals, or unusual occurrences, according to established protocols.
  • Interact with employees, visitors, and/or contractors in a professional manner while maintaining access control and verifying identification as required by site procedures.
  • Support Allied Universal management by communicating concerns or security-related incidents promptly, following company guidelines.
  • Remain alert to changes in the environment and adapt to varying working conditions as required by the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
