Sylvan Learning is the premier provider of supplemental education, and our Saint Augustine center is looking for a Center Director who functions as a General Manager and Brand Ambassador. This is not a behind-the-desk administrative role; it is a dynamic, outward-facing position designed for a "people person" who excels at building community partnerships and converting inquiries into lifelong advocates.

The Primary Mission

Your goal is to grow the center's footprint in Saint Augustine. You will lead the "Sales & Service" lifecycle, ensuring that every family in our community knows how Sylvan can change their child's life, and ensuring our revenue targets reflect our impact.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Growth

• Lead Conversion: Manage the entire sales funnel—from the first phone inquiry to the "Sylvan Insight Assessment" and the final enrollment closing.
• Consultative Selling: Analyze student data to present personalized learning plans to parents, effectively communicating the value of our programs to secure long-term commitments.
• Revenue Management: Drive monthly enrollment goals and manage the center's P&L to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
• Financing Expertise: Present and close tuition financing packages, making our premium services accessible to all Saint Augustine families.

Community Engagement & Grassroots Marketing

• Brand Ambassador: Act as the face of Sylvan within the Saint Augustine community. You are out in the field as much as you are in the center.
• School Partnerships: Build and maintain high-level relationships with local principals, guidance counselors, and teachers to establish Sylvan as the "preferred educational partner" for Saint Augustine schools.
• Networking & Outreach: Represent Sylvan at local community events, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and PTA/PTO functions to generate high-quality leads.
• Local Marketing Execution: Implement localized marketing strategies, including social media engagement and "boots-on-the-ground" neighborhood outreach.

Operational Excellence

• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of instructors and assistants, fostering a culture of accountability and "sales-through-service."
• Customer Retention: Manage the "Customer Lifecycle," conducting regular progress conferences with parents to ensure satisfaction, refer-a-friend leads, and continued enrollment.

Requirements

• The "Hustle" Factor: A proven track record in sales, retail management, or business development where you were responsible for meeting specific growth targets.
• Exceptional Communication: You must be a "closer" who can speak persuasively to parents and present professionally to school administrators.
• Leadership Presence: Experience managing a team and the ability to command a room, whether it's a staff meeting or a community presentation.
• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; we will consider ambitious College Seniors with a strong background in sales/marketing.
• Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Saint Augustine educational landscape is a major plus.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills; you must be able to explain complex educational data to parents in a relatable way.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment (balancing walk-in parents, phone calls, and student needs simultaneously).

• Job Type: Full-time
• Location: Saint Augustine, FL In-person)
• Travel: 25-30% (Dedicated time for school visits, community networking, and local marketing events).
• Schedule: Afternoon and evening hours (when parents and students are available), including weekends.
