Job Summary

One Point Four is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join a leading design-build firm specializing in data center and mission-critical infrastructure. The company delivers fully integrated solutions across power, mechanical, and construction disciplines—trusted by major operators for its technical precision, safety-first culture, and ability to execute complex projects from concept to commissioning.

In this role, you'll lead the electrical design of high-reliability systems that support large-scale data center operations. You'll work across all project phases, from initial design and modeling through field support and commissioning, ensuring every system meets strict performance, scalability, and uptime requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of data center electrical systems, including MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, and grounding systems.
  • Produce one-line diagrams, load calculations, and detailed construction documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.
  • Conduct short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies using SKM Power*Tools or ETAP.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, civil, and controls teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining compliance with NEC, IEEE, and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Support commissioning and field verification of electrical installations to confirm performance and quality.
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on system issues, driving continuous design improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute technical leadership across multiple projects.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering; PE license or progress toward licensure preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience designing electrical systems for data centers, critical facilities, or large-scale industrial sites.
  • Strong foundation in MV/LV distribution, grounding, protective device coordination, and power reliability.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM workflows; familiar with SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower for system studies.
  • Solid understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and local electrical codes.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with substation design or integration is a nice-to-have, particularly for hyperscale projects.
  • Knowledge of monitoring systems (BMS/EPMS) and energy efficiency strategies (PUE optimization, renewable integration) is a plus.
