The Biochemist II, Beads Manufacturing must have working knowledge of fluorescence microparticle manufacturing. This role will conduct data analysis to solve complex problems with various factors. The Biochemist II is responsible for improving process efficiencies and product quality. This position will also support and participate in continuous improvement projects as identified by the leadership team and assigned by the Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work independently to manufacture beads products following GMP and GDP practices
- Ensure products are manufactured per the planning schedule
- Conduct associate training as required.
- Cross-training in other areas of Reagent Operations to provide manufacturing flexibility.
- Collaborate with team members on projects under the mentorship of senior scientists or managers.
- Continuous Improvement projects – Participate in Process scale up, simplification, improvement
- Contribute to the discussion of root cause analysis for product complaints and process failures
- Support team leadership in the implementation of Company initiatives
- Promote a safe work environment.
- Participate in Environmental Health and Safety programs.
- Notify the supervisor of all observed hazardous conditions or unsafe work practices.
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required by supervisor and/or management team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of experience in a science-related field or
- Master's degree with 1 - 3 years of experience in science-related field or equivalent combination of related education and experience. ·
- Work experience and willingness to work with organic solvents and hazardous chemicals
Assets:
- Demonstrated ability to use laboratory instruments and knowledge of general laboratory safety.
- Bead dyeing and conjugation experience
- Experience in SAP/ related Enterprise management system
- Effective analytical problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to follow established policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to keep accurate and complete records.
Physical Demands:
- General physical requirements: Laboratory work
- Visual acuity requirements: Inspection / Administrative.
- Motion and sensory requirements: Talking, hearing, and walking.
- Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a lab setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to reach, lift and carry glassware with or without hazard chemicals up to 10 pounds; to push and pull carts with load up to 250 pounds.
