Job Description

The Opportunity

The Regional Facilities Manager oversees the maintenance and custodial operations across multiple KIPP Texas campuses within an assigned region. This role ensures that KIPP Texas students and staff are provided with safe, clean, and well-maintained facilities that support a conducive learning environment. The Regional Facilities Manager acts as the primary point of contact for facilities-related needs across campuses within their region and is responsible for maintaining service level agreements and managing the performance of facilities staff. This role is a key member of the statewide Facilities team and reports to the Director of Facilities. The Regional Facilities Manager will supervise Custodial Managers, Sr. Facilities Technicians, and third-party service providers, furthering the mission of KIPP Texas by delivering high-quality facility management across multiple campuses.

Key Responsibilities

● Manage facility operations across multiple campuses, ensuring performance is in line with state- determined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

● Oversee scheduling, execution, and quality of daily maintenance and custodial tasks through a work order management system.

● Collaborate with campus administrators to support events, shared spaces, and daily operational needs across multiple locations.

● Supervise custodial and maintenance staff across campuses, including KIPP Texas employees and outsourced service providers.

● Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate maintenance and custodial staff, ensuring they meet high standards of performance.

● Manage the regional facilities budget, including employee time management, equipment, and supply procurement.

● Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors working across regional campuses, ensuring timely and quality completion of contracted work.

● Lead campus security efforts where applicable, including setting expectations, developing protocols, and managing associated budgets.

● Support school operations, emergency planning, and response, ensuring readiness across multiple campuses.

● Lead facility compliance efforts and ensure campuses meet all regulatory standards.

● Manage preventive maintenance programs, custodial supply orders, and key management across the region.

● Plan and execute major projects, including summer work, deep cleaning, and renovations for assigned properties.

● Attend regional and statewide facilities meetings, training, and professional development sessions to stay current on best practices.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications

● Minimum 5-10 years of relevant work experience, with facilities management and supervisory experience preferred.

● Proven ability to use data for driving performance improvements, solving problems, and informing decisions.

● Experience in managing performance improvement plans, employee accountability measures, and corrective actions.

● Strong leadership skills, with a focus on customer service and team management.

● Excellent problem-solving abilities and proactive decision-making.

● Flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

● Technical knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and repair operations is preferred.

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

● Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and high standards of work.

● Deep commitment to public education and working with underserved communities.

● Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

● Experience with facilities management software such as School Dude or similar is preferred.

● Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are preferred.

● Bachelor's degree preferred.

● Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between campuses.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $63k-72k and placement in the salary range is commensurate upon experience and internal equity.
