Position Summary:
As a Sourcing Specialist, you will analyze, organize, and improve sourcing processes for Vitality Works, with the goal of streamlining operations, reducing costs while ensuring quality sourcing in regards to product and vender qualifications to include all QC requirements (kosher, COG, vegan, gluten, etc.) Compare pricing for needed products and supplies, and negotiate with vendors and competitors. Manage requests for proposals and bidding processes. Establish and nurture relationships with key suppliers to ensure competitive pricing. Devise creative or alternative approaches to bundling procurement services or customizing orders for more favorable terms.
Position Responsibilities:
Collaborate with QC and product development to maintain a database of qualified vendors per item to include but limited to ensuring quality specifications are met and updated as needed. Sourcing suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships with them as well as existing suppliers. Partner with key business stakeholders to ensure sourced material and services meet the needs of the business Implementing inventory optimization strategies by reviewing and consolidating materials where possible Procuring and managing pre-shipment samples for quality testing Obtaining quotes from different suppliers. Negotiate contracts to include pricing, terms, lead times to optimize total value of ownership. ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation. Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns. Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes. Providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.QualificationsSkills & Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in administration, logistics, supply chain or related field and sufficient experience pertaining to this job. Associates preferred. Three to five years previous experience in a fast-paced environment Physical: This position requires sitting/walking for the majority of the day Consistent, professional dress and manner. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Competency in Microsoft applications including Excel and Outlook. Complete background check and drug screen. Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Strong negotiation skills. Be a team player and work cooperatively and respectful in a positive manner with all team members. Knowledge of administrative/ clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures. Experience with Excel and data entry. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. The ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to handle customer complaints in a professional manner. Must be detailed oriented. Must be able to enter data quickly and accurately. Must treat all customer inquiries and orders with the highest sense of urgency.Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
