SUMMARY

Responsible for performing extensive preventative maintenance, repair procedures, building, equipment, machinery, grounds, and other company facilities.

Your tasks

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Performs independently preventative maintenance work on all equipment
  • Assists in special projects for maintenance
  • Independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from manager.
  • Maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, faucets, dispensers, and fountains
  • Operating a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as drills, air compressors, paint sprayers, sewer augers, and various hand tools required for carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance skills
  • Maintains all records related to all vendors, jobs, quotes, and equipment
  • Performs custodial-related duties necessary to maintain the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of buildings and grounds
  • Inspects facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
  • Advises and/or responds to emergencies on a 24-hour basis as needed
  • Manages inventory of hand tools and ordering supplies as needed
  • Reliable attendance is a must
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, regulations, and strategies to promote a safe environment.
  • Basic Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Basic Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Intermediate Reasoning Skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills - MS Word
  • Other Skills - Ability to perform semi-skilled building maintenance and repair work

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the field of general maintenance and repairs, including at least 3 years' experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair and air conditioning
  • Forklift certification

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Does not supervise staff
