The QUIKRETE Companies, the largest manufacturer of packaged concrete and cement mixes in North America, is seeking a qualified professional for our Plant Manager Trainee Program. We are seeking driven overlooked leaders at their current employers, and/or new graduates seeking a pathway to success. This position reports to the local Plant Manager and will work closely with our plant/operations management teams to learn all aspects of plant management, including operations, maintenance, budgeting and expenses, dispatch and administration.

As training progresses, the trainee will be expected to perform such important duties as assigned. It is expected that at the end of the training period the successful candidate will be ready to transition into a plant manager roll.

Skills to be learned include but are not limited to:

· Will learn how to operate each piece of equipment in the plant and its overall function in the manufacturing process.

· Will learn how to perform each position in the plant and office (excluding truck driver) and be able to fill in for short-term vacancies.

· Will learn how to prepare all reports and how they are used.

· Will learn how to maintain an adequate inventory of supplies and finished goods throughout the yearly business cycle.

· Will participate in production scheduling and the monthly inventory process.

· Will learn company and plant policies.

· Will attend weekly Monday Morning Plant/Sales Meetings.

· Will learn how to supervise and manage any department in the plant.

· Will learn how to conduct all company safety programs, quality program and SOP's

· Will maintain a weekly training journal and other duties as assigned by Manager

Qualifications:

· A four-year college degree is required, and some manufacturing or related experience is preferred.

· Must be willing and able to learn how to operate each piece of equipment in the manufacturing process as well as company SOP's and process.

· Must have a mechanical aptitude capable of communicating with maintenance personnel.

· Must be able to build, maintain and lead in a teamwork type environment.

· Must be able to monitor and manage adequate inventory controls.

· Must have strong analytical problem solving skills.

· Must have good communication skills and work well with their supervisor, peers, subordinates and customers.

· Must be willing to relocate for final placement.

Location

· Position will originally be based in Alvarado, TX or Columbus, TX Typical training period will last approximately 18 to 24 months.
