Part-Time Worship Audio Technician

Position Description: The Worship Audio Technician reports to the Creative Director and is responsible for in-person and online worship audio for worship on Sunday services, Wednesday night services, and all Special Events.

Position requires 12 hours per week.

Major responsibilities:

  • Be available for work on Sunday mornings from 8 am – 12:30 pm (4.5 hours) weekly, and Wednesday Nights from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm (2 hours) weekly, and special worship services (indoor and outdoor) as needed.
  • Support services and ministries through the use of well-executed audio in both operating and coaching roles.
  • Recruit, train, and support audio volunteers.
  • Contribute to services and large events through brainstorming, R&D, and implementation.
  • Prepare all sound equipment weekly for Sunday worship services. This includes: a. Test batteries in wireless microphones in Gathering Grounds and Worship Center. b. Test all microphones in Gathering Grounds and Worship Center. c. Test PA systems in Gathering Grounds and Worship Center. d. Set the stage for worship for each service.
  • Prepare, set up, operate, and tear down all sound equipment for any outdoor services.
  • Ensure the best audio mix for pastors, singers, musicians, and videos.
  • Ensure the best audio mix for online worship.
  • Keep all sound equipment in good working order. Inform the Director of the soundness of the equipment to plan and budget for the replacement and upgrade of the same.
  • Purchase, install, and test equipment as needed.
  • Develop backup plans for equipment failures during the service.
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate should be respectful and be able to support the ministry of Mosaic Church.
  • Ability to think quickly and react/troubleshoot properly in high-stress situations.
  • Proven audio mixing experience and expertise with digital audio consoles, signal flow, digital networking, and audio system components.
  • Proven online worship live audio mixing experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in setting up and running sound in multiple venues - indoor and outdoor.
  • The ability to communicate and establish effective working relationships with our Sunday worship teams, including pastors, worship leaders, worship team members, video tech team, and volunteers
  • The ideal candidate should be creative, have a positive attitude, and be solutions-oriented.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Capable of moderate lifting and physical labor.
