Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable Class A Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers across various routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. This position requires a strong focus on driving excellence, load management, and customer service. Experience with different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks is highly desirable. The role offers an opportunity to work with diverse freight loads and develop a comprehensive skill set in commercial driving.

Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor-trailers with automatic transmissions across designated routes while adhering to all safety and traffic laws
  • Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary
  • Safely handle various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
  • Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules and optimize fuel efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports
  • Ensure cargo is secured properly during transit to prevent damage or accidents
  • Communicate professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues encountered during routes
  • Follow all company policies related to driving hours, load limits, and safety protocols

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
  • Experience in truck driving with a focus on freight delivery; experience with route driving preferred
  • Knowledge of different trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds
  • Ability to load & unload freight efficiently and safely using appropriate equipment such as forklifts if required
  • Prior experience in delivery driver roles or commercial trucking is highly desirable
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening prior to employment
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations related to commercial driving and freight handling
  • Physical ability to lift heavy loads when necessary and perform routine vehicle inspections
