Description
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary purpose of the Assistant Program Coordinator (APC) is to assist in the planning, organization, coordination and oversight of the day-to-day operation of the out of school time programs at their assigned school. The APC will assist in the development and implementation of the out of school time program at their assigned campus following the vision, framework and expectations set forth by the agency and site and district leadership.
General Duties
- Assist the Program Coordinator to ensure the out of school time program is running efficiently each day.
- Assist with Clayton and campus special events as assigned.
- Learn, model and promote social-emotional learning skills.
- Articulate the Clayton Youth Enrichment Vision, Mission, and Values.
- Assist the Program Coordinator to build bridges in programmatic goals that serve both Clayton and TBPs Mission and Vision for OST based programs.
- Attend all required trainings and meetings.
Staff Management
- Assist the Program Coordinator in managing daily duties and schedules for all program staff, contract tutors/teachers and enrichment vendors.
- Serve as the Program Coordinator when the Program Coordinator may be on PTO or in mandatory trainings and meetings.
- Promote high expectations for performance and provide recognition for excellence and achievement
Program Development
- Assist the Program Coordinator to implement quality programming.
- Assist the Program Coordinator in planning for a broad array of experiences, activities and services to build youth development skills and complement the regular school day
- Work with a small group of students utilizing Claytons curriculum framework and programmatic goals.
Administrative
- Help to ensure programs meet all regulations and requirements of governing agencies
- Assist in the preparation of reports as required, and in maintaining regular data collection

PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:
- Requires daily standing, sitting, bending and stooping
- Requires normal range of hearing and vision
- Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work flexible schedules when necessary, and travel to Fort Worth based offices at least monthly if not more during certain seasons.
- Available to work Saturdays and/or evenings if needed (approx. 4-6 times per year)
- Complete 30+ hours of paid training/professional development, occasionally out of the area
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk
- Risk of exposure to childhood diseases

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
- Good communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong degree of computer proficiency using Microsoft Office
- Maintain annual training requirements as mandated
- General knowledge of local school district a plus
- Bilingual (Spanish) candidates preferred
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 21 years of age; At least 2 years of experience in a similar setting
- Previous experience working in in education, recreation, child development or related field preferred
- Experience working with and managing small groups of 15-20 children.
- Experience working in or managing a small team of 2-5 staff members
- Knowledge of best practices in classroom and behavior management.
- Basic knowledge of assessment and observation of students.
