Summary

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Technician performs a variety of routine to skilled general maintenance duties in the repair, alteration and modification of buildings, equipment and facilities. All full-time Operations Technicians with a minimum of 2 years full-time day shift experience at DMC/DBHC will be required to take call as assigned and in accordance with Facilities Services "Procedure for Standby and On-call Response.

SHIFT: Rotate

JOB TYPE: Per Diem

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School graduate preferred.

Minimum Experience/Skills: 5 years experience required

License/Certificates/ Credentials: Valid California Drivers License.

Physical Demands: 

  • Frequent sitting, standing/walking
  • Lift/position up to 100 lbs. Push/pull up to 100 lbs of force.
  • Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Manual dexterity and mobility
  • Touch, auditory and visual perception and acuity
  • Adequate vocal pitch and volume
  • Ability to move quickly

Vision Requirements: Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less, adjust vision to bring objects into focus and to distinguish different colors

Working Conditions: 

  • Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and blood borne diseases
  • Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
  • Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness)
  • Emergency and crisis situations
  • Subject to irregular hours
  • Increased stress due to multiple calls and inquiries
  • Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances and bio-hazardous material
