Role -Workday HCM Functional Consultant

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Workday HCM Functional Consultant with 10+ years of experience in Human Capital Management systems and strong expertise in Workday configuration, implementation, and optimization. The ideal candidate will partner with HR, Payroll, and IT teams to design, configure, test, and deploy scalable Workday HCM solutions that align with business objectives and compliance standards.

This role requires deep functional knowledge of Workday Core HCM, Business Processes, Security, and Reporting, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Workday Configuration & Implementation
  • Lead and execute end-to-end Workday HCM implementations and enhancements, including Core HCM, Absence, Time Tracking, Compensation, and Talent modules.

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and perform detailed Workday configuration and testing.

  • Support system upgrades, tenant refreshes, and new feature deployments.

2. Functional Analysis & Design
  • Conduct requirement workshops with stakeholders to capture business needs and identify process improvement opportunities.

  • Design scalable and efficient business processes within Workday aligned with HR best practices.

  • Maintain system documentation, configuration guides, and test scripts.

3. Integration & Reporting
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support Workday integrations with downstream systems (Payroll, Benefits, ATS, Finance, etc.).

  • Develop and maintain Workday reports, calculated fields, and dashboards.

  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

4. Support & Optimization
  • Provide post-implementation support, issue resolution, and root cause analysis.

  • Recommend and implement system optimization strategies for improved performance and user experience.

  • Stay current with Workday releases, assessing and deploying new features as appropriate.

5. Stakeholder Communication
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and advisor to HR leadership on Workday capabilities and best practices.

  • Communicate system updates, enhancements, and timelines clearly to business users.

  • Train HR and business users on Workday functionality and self-service tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of total experience in HCM systems, with 5+ years dedicated to Workday HCM functional configuration and implementation.

  • Hands-on expertise in Core HCM, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, and Talent Management.

  • Experience in Workday Business Process Framework, Security Configuration, and Reporting (Advanced/Composite Reports).

  • Proven track record of delivering at least 3 full lifecycle Workday HCM implementations.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes, including employee lifecycle management, benefits, and payroll.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a remote, fast-paced environment.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Workday HCM Certification (Core or Advanced modules preferred).

    • Experience with Workday Studio, EIBs, and Integrations (functional perspective).

    • Knowledge of Workday Prism Analytics or Adaptive Planning is a plus.

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or related field.

    • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project methodologies.
