Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.Summary:The Supervisor, Pharmacy -Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operations including but not limited to the Central Inpatient Pharmacy. The scope will include responsibility for efficient and effective, distributive and clinical workflows through supervision and coordination with pharmacist and technician staff. The supervisor works closely with pharmacy and nursing staff to resolve issues related to pharmacy operations and systems, improve efficiencies, and reduce costs. The supervisor exemplifies Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the supervision and workflow integration of the Clinical Operations Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.Assists in interviewing and hiring pharmacist and technician staff.Participates/coordinates orientation and training of pharmacy personnel.Maintains knowledge of and contributes to transformation and optimization of operational workflows in accordance with best practices.In partnership with narcotic technicians and other members of the pharmacy management team, ensures security of controlled substances.Coordinates with the Pharmacy Buyers, medication and pharmacy supply inventory control and optimization.Participates in Pharmacy Manager Meetings, Drug Shortage Meetings, and the Central OperationsPharmacy Committee as well as other committees as assigned.Serves as a principal resource for clarification of pharmacy operational policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with relevant standards of practice as recommended by the Illinois Board of Pharmacy, the Joint Commission, DEA regulatory requirements and USP , USP and USP regulatory standards.Supports pharmacy residency and experiential education programs.Participates in the on-call rotation for the pharmacy administrator on call.Staffs' pharmacist core roles in the Central Fill and Central IV areas as needed.Other information:Required Job Qualifications:Active and in good standing State of Illinois licensure.For out of state candidates, an existing license in home state in good standing and the ability to obtain an IL state license within 30-days of job offer.Excellent clinical, written/verbal communication, precepting pharmacy learners, strong problem-solving skills, experience developing pharmacy services.Completed PharmD.Previous experience leading a multi-professional committee or workgroup.Normal office, warehouse and clinical environments.This is a full time •0 FTE position, First shift, Monday through Friday. The employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and must work 40.0 hours each week to maintain full time status. Employees need to be able to work extended hours due to business needs.This position required up to 5% travel.Preferred Job Qualifications:PGY1 and PGY2 training (or equivalent training).Board certification (specialty certification, as appropriate).Knowledge of pertinent Information Technology (Epic, Beacon).Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Expertise in medication therapy management, chronic disease state management, and transitions of care.Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical documentation systems.Physical Demands:Lifting up to 10 pounds, bending, standing, or sitting on a stool as necessary.Continuous standing and frequent walking.May be exposed to certain hazardous materials, including but not limited to blood-borne pathogens, chemotherapeutic agents, cleaning and sanitizing agents.Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
