Director of Operations – The Hive on Woodland

About The Hive:

The Hive on Woodland is a playful, creative, and community-driven children's center offering before & after school programs, day camps, enrichment opportunities, and unforgettable parties. Our mission is to provide families with a place where kids can move, imagine, and grow - and where parents feel part of a supportive community.

We're looking for a Director of Operations who brings both heart and leadership to our growing team. This person will oversee day-to-day operations, support staff, and ensure that every Hive experience - from daily programming to weekend events - runs smoothly and reflects our core values of play, connection, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations for before & after school programs, day camps, and weekend parties.

  • Lead and mentor staff, fostering a positive, organized, and collaborative team environment.

  • Manage scheduling, attendance, and parent communication using ProCare and other tools.

  • Ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and readiness for daily activities.

  • Support program development in art, movement, and social-emotional learning.

  • Communicate warmly and professionally with families, addressing questions and concerns.

  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members.

  • Coordinate with ownership on staffing, events, and community engagement.

  • Assist with or lead hands-on activities with children (art, games, fitness, etc.).

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in childcare, education, recreation, or youth program leadership.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.

  • Organizational and problem-solving skills; calm under pressure.

  • Familiarity with child development, safety, and enrichment programming.

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55, $60,000.00 per year
