The Team
This is a full-time position based in our New York office. In this position you will be part of a US team, consisting of colleagues who manage payroll for the US and the United Kingdom (UK). Your knowledge and experience of payroll and customer service will make a difference to the professionals we serve and the cross-functional teams we partner with.
How you will contribute
- Responsible for the processing of semi-monthly and monthly multi-state US and global payroll (UK) for multiple payroll companies within A&M Inc.
- Audit and verifying the validity of information submitted by management and corporate HR
- Provide exceptional client experience through strong customer service in response to inquiries from employees, internal departments and outside vendors related to payroll inquiries within a timely manner.
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages
- Assist with all Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking & testing as needed.
- Updates payroll records by entering changes in employee W4 and state tax exemptions and filing status. Maintain 401k deductions and other voluntary employee deductions.
- Upload the export files into the GL and reconcile with debits from bank accounts.
- Actively engage and adapt to various technological enhancements with the goal of driving greater efficiencies and automation.

- Excellent communication and prioritization skills along with the ability to identify and present process improvements.
- Must be able to handle confidential information and issues effectively and without breach of confidentiality.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in payroll for the US, multi-State and multi-entity payroll operations, with a strong understanding of HR & Payroll related issues.
- Proficiency with ADP Total Source, Yardi, and/or Oracle.
- Associate/bachelor's degree in business, Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Must have intermediate Excel (Pivot, VLOOKUP, Formulas).
- Proactive approach towards issues.
- Ability to take ownership of payroll processes and reconciliation.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined periodically as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive an annual discretionary contribution to their 401(k) retirement savings plan from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The amount of vacation and personal days available varies based on tenure and role type.
The salary range is $75,000 - $80,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
