Social Work Supervisor

Clinical Supervisor & Licensed Therapist (LCSW-C)
At Trauma Specialists of Maryland, we're a team of compassionate, values-driven clinicians who are committed to helping clients heal from trauma—and supporting each other along the way. We're actively anti-racist, LGBTQ+ affirming, and deeply committed to creating a work culture that values inclusion, integrity, laughter, and learning.
We value inclusion, empowerment, wholeness, courage, and humanness—and those values show up in how we support each other as clinicians just as much as in the therapy room. This is a place where you can ask questions, get support, and bring your full self to the work. We're looking for curious, kind clinicians who are ready to grow.
About the Role
We're looking for a Clinical Supervisor to join our team of trauma therapists. In this role, you'll hold space for your own caseload of clients while also supporting provisionally-licensed clinicians through supervision and mentorship. You'll play a vital role in helping our next generation of therapists build clinical confidence and develop their voice—with the full support of a practice that has your back, too.
What Makes This Role Unique
- Trauma Specialists provides a supportive onboarding process to help you settle in, get trained, and feel confident.
- We provide all clinicians with complimentary EMDR training (if you're not already trained). You're also enrolled offered additional support through our EMDR Circle community.
- We support clinicians through their Clinician Career Path. From certification to training facilitation, there are multiple paths to grow here—without having to leave.
- You'll have dedicated time for supervision, peer consultation, and team support and connection.
What We Offer
- Company-generated referrals
- A dedicated client support team to help with scheduling
- Expert billing + insurance support
- EMDR training or refresher (we cover this)
- Free access to our EMDR Circle community
- Clinical consultation & peer support
- Dedicated administrative team
- A workplace culture built on kindness, fun, and growth
- Bonus opportunities and potential
What You'll Be Doing
Your Clinical Work (Approx. 60–70% of Role)
As a Clinical Supervisor, you'll be responsible for providing high-quality, trauma-informed care that meets both client needs and organizational standards. This includes:
- Maintaining your caseload with reliable attendance and follow-through
- Completing all clinical documentation (progress notes, treatment plans, etc.) accurately and in a timely manner, meeting all quality and compliance standards
- Collaborating with our Client Support team for scheduling and communication
- Supporting client satisfaction by being responsive, timely, and organized
- Attending team consultations and clinical meetings for ongoing learning and support
- Providing care that is inclusive, ethical, and aligned with best practices in trauma therapy
- Participating in EMDR consultation and community learning through our EMDR Circle (included)
Your Supervision Work (Approx. 30–40% of Role)
In your role as Clinical Supervisor, you'll mentor and support up to four provisionally licensed therapists—helping them build confidence, clinical skill, and alignment with practice standards.
You are the first line of support for identifying, addressing, and correcting concerns early. You'll serve as both a coach and a mentor, providing feedback with care, clarity, and consistency.
Your supervision responsibilities include:
- Holding consistent, structured supervision sessions with supervisees
- Creating supervision agreements and setting clear expectations
- Reviewing and signing off on clinical documentation, checking for accuracy and compliance
- Offering timely feedback on case conceptualization, clinical skills, and professional conduct
- Identifying performance concerns early and mentoring supervisees through them
- Coaching supervisees on ethical, legal, and clinical best practices
- Consulting with leadership when additional support or accountability is needed
- Attending bi-monthly Clinical Supervisor meetings
- Participating in training through the Trauma Specialists Training Academy to stay aligned with what your supervisees are learning
- Modeling Trauma Specialists' values of inclusion, wholeness, empowerment, courage, and humanness in all interactions
What We're Looking For
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Board-approved supervisor (or eligible)
- 5+ years clinical experience in the last 10 years
- Comfortable working with trauma (we'll train in EMDR if needed)
- Clinical clarity, inclusive mindset, strong ethics, and the ability to support others without needing to have all the answers
If you're someone who values collaboration over competition, believes growth is part of the work, and wants to be part of a community—not just a company—we'd love to meet you.
Benefits Include:
Full-Time Benefits Include:
- Health, dental, and vision insurance (eligibility begins after 60 days)
- Short- and long-term disability + life insurance
- Discounted pet insurance
- 401(k) with company match after 1 year
- $1,000 annual wellness stipend
- Paid sick leave and personal leave
- Monthly bonus for 100+ client sessions/month
- Ongoing training + EMDR Circle membership
