Overview

Sew Vac City is one of the largest sewing machine dealers in the US and is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for retail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in driving sales, assisting customers, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a knack for upselling products. Compensation includes base pay, commission and bonuses. Experience is preferred, but not required. We will train the right candidate.

Duties

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored product recommendations.
  • Demonstrate product features and benefits through effective product demos.
  • Process transactions accurately using the cash register and POS systems.
  • Handle cash and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
  • Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise to ensure an appealing store layout.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain knowledge of current promotions, sales, and store policies to assist customers effectively.
  • Participate in inventory management activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail sales is preferred, particularly in sewing/quilting/crafting businesses
  • Strong upselling skills with the ability to promote additional products effectively.
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures and operating cash registers or POS systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to engage with customers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for stocking and maintaining inventory.
  • A proactive attitude towards learning about new products and store offerings.
  • Able to lift 40+ lbs
