Position Summary

The Pharmacy Operations Liaison supports pharmacy and medication-related services for The Center's clinic programs. This role works closely with outside provider programs, clinical providers, clinic leadership, contracted pharmacies, and patients to support medication access, adherence, refill coordination, and continuity of care. This position assists with prescription workflows, communicates with pharmacies to resolve challenges, provides medication education, tracks adherence progress, and helps ensure a seamless pharmacy experience that supports patient health outcomes and clinical goals.

This role also acts as a bridge between clinic leadership and pharmacy partners, supporting collaboration, service quality, and communication. The position requires strong customer service skills, high attention to detail, and an ability to build trust with patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily prescription workflows, including refill requests, insurance submissions, and pharmacy follow-up
  • Works directly with Dr Farabi and other clinical providers to review medication lists, reconcile therapies, and ensure continuity of care
  • Supports patient adherence through phone calls, text follow-up, refill reminders, appointment reminders, and ongoing medication education
  • Provides warm, patient-centered support for individuals who may be new to care, restarting care, or navigating challenges
  • Communicates consistently and professionally with contracted pharmacy partners to resolve medication access issues such as prior authorizations, billing, manufacturer programs, or supply issues
  • Helps maintain positive relationships between pharmacy partners and The Center's leadership
  • Tracks medication pickup and adherence trends and reports them to leadership
  • Maintains accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Supports orientation for new staff regarding pharmacy workflows and best practices
  • Provides high-quality customer service to patients, staff, and external partners
  • Upholds confidentiality, patient privacy standards, and clinic policies
  • Participates in ongoing training to maintain pharmacy and clinical knowledge
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Current Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Technician in Training with pathway to full licensure
  • Understanding prescription processing, pharmacy terminology, and medication safety
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient-centered customer service with a calm, supportive approach
  • Ability to solve problems and resolve issues with pharmacies and insurance
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office
  • High level of reliability, confidentiality, and accuracy
  • Ability to work collaboratively with medical providers and clinic staff
  • Demonstrates cultural humility and respect for LGBTQ+ communities and all marginalized groups

Educational Background and Work Experience:

  • Current Pharmacy Technician license required
  • Minimum three years of pharmacy experience required
  • Experience in specialty pharmacy, HIV care, or chronic disease management preferred
  • Experience in a clinic setting preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move within clinic and office settings

Salary range: $55,000 - $60,000
