Mathematics :

Position Overview:

Tuition-Free Public Classical School is seeking experienced middle and high school Advanced Mathematics Teachers to teach grade level mathematics. The ideal candidates will have knowledge of and passion for mathematics taught effectively using traditional, classical pedagogies that should engross students. The educator should focus on understanding ideas behind the facts, helping students appreciate the beauty and wonder of math, and develop a love for the subject.

Responsibilities:

Math Teacher Responsibilities:

Planning and presenting lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of advanced mathematical concepts. Preparing and distributing learning material such as notes, assignments, tests and quizzes. Sourcing the resources and supplies needed for lessons.

  • Teaching: Ability to explain area concepts (ie: equations, polynomials, and graphing, algebra & calculus.)
  • Uphold the mission and values of the school.
  • Lesson planning: Create, plan and deliver lesson plans that reflect the curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Assessment: Evaluate students' academic and social growth, and their ability to meet school standards
  • Feedback: Provide feedback to students and parents to help them improve their understanding
  • Classroom management: Establish and maintain a safe learning environment, and manage student behavior
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with students about lessons and instructions
  • Collaboration: Ability to work well with others, including: teachers, parents, co-workers, deans, coaches and school administration

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Developing classroom materials
  • Organizing activities
  • Assigning homework and grading tests
  • Preparing students for exams, quizzes and tests
  • Creating learning projects and essays

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required- Bachelor Degree from accredited college or university (preferred Masters degree.)
  • Required- Knowledge of subject area
  • Required- Prior Teaching Experience
  • Required- 5+ years teaching experience
  • Preferred- Possession of a Florida Educator Certification in corresponding subject area or the desire to do so within 2 years of employment (NCA can provide information on obtaining the necessary cert for eligible candidates.)
  • Preferred- Degree in Mathematics or related discipline
  • Ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, push, or lift
