Equipment Operator

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Lead Operator or Foreman, performs work involving the use of large equipment including tractors, loaders, trenchers, backhoes, trucks and other maintenance equipment.  This operator has many years of golf course experience and can operate all equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

• Mow fairways, roughs, tees, greens, approaches and rakes bunkers.
• Operate turf vac, skip-loader, fairway and rough aerifier, boom sprayer, top dressers and fertilizer spreaders.
• Perform other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
• Ensure that the equipment cooling system is working at all times; refill fuel and oil daily; clean equipment daily and report equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately.
• Provide basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by the Equipment Manager and return all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
• Operate smaller equipment as directed by his/her supervisor.
• Water and fertilize tees, greens, fairways and roughs.
• Change cups, move ropes and signs.
• Operate all equipment listed under Operator II level

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
