HR Generalist

Location: Mobile, AL

Persons Services Corp is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support our Human Resources team. The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will play a vital role in managing and supporting core HR functions to ensure a positive and productive work environment. This position is responsible for overseeing onboarding, payroll processing, employee relations, and benefits administration while ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws. The HR Generalist will work closely with employees and management to foster a strong workplace culture and optimize HR processes that contribute to the company's overall success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting employee engagement and upholding company culture and core values
  • Serve as a contact for employees, providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and workplace concerns
  • Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring a seamless transition into the company
  • Process employee terminations, maintaining compliance with labor laws and internal policies
  • Assist with payroll processing when necessary, ensuring accuracy and compliance with wage and hour laws
  • Track and administer wage garnishments as required
  • Support managers and supervisors in documentation and record-keeping related to employee relations and disciplinary actions
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, claims processing, and employee inquiries related to health, dental, vision, and retirement plans
  • Maintain HR information systems and employee records with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field. (Relevant work experience in lieu of degree considered in lieu of degree)
  • 2+ years relevant work experience
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources Administration
  • Knowledge of State and Federal labor laws and policies
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive information and documentation
