The Line Server/Cashier is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, preparing and serving food, and handling cashiering duties with a focus on efficiency and accuracy. Familiarity with the Toast POS system is highly valued to ensure seamless order processing and payment handling.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with menu selections or questions.
  • Take and process customer orders accurately using the Toast POS system.
  • Address customer inquiries and ensure their experience meets or exceeds expectations.

Food Service:

  • Assemble and serve menu items quickly and according to company standards.
  • Follow proper portion control, presentation, and food safety guidelines.
  • Restock serving stations and maintain freshness of food items throughout service hours.

Cashiering Duties:

  • Process payments (cash, credit, or digital) accurately using Toast POS.
  • Open and close the register and ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the end of the shift.
  • Resolve payment discrepancies or escalate issues to management as needed.

Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Keep workstations, counters, and customer areas clean and sanitized.
  • Perform routine cleaning and restocking tasks during downtime.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and hygiene practices.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Prior experience as a cashier, server, or in a customer-facing role is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with the Toast POS system is highly preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing orders and payments.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math and computer skills for using POS systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable handling food and working in warm or busy kitchen environments.
