Quality Manager

Activities/Responsibilities

1. Interacts internally and externally with operations management to report on the performance of the quality within Elgin Sweeper Company.
2. Participates with other functional and operational personnel to establish, communicate, and execute business and operational strategies.
3. Establishes effective Operational Quality disciplines and methodologies in areas such as Product Qualification/Validation, Process Controls, Non-conforming Material Trending, Quality Systems, Statistical Methods, Supplier Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement, and Corrective/Preventive Action.
4. Assures effective systems, validations, and controls are established and maintained to transition new products and technologies from a development to operational environment.
5. Establishes robust, aggressive systems to assure corrective and preventive measures are systematically implemented, monitored, and controlled and meet our ISO 9001 requirements.
6. Develops and tracks department metrics, and department objectives.
7. Demonstrated and developing leadership competencies; takes initiative with minimal supervision; strong interpersonal skills; team player; proven ability to effectively manage department in a technically complex and fast-paced operational environment.
8. Supports and helps guide Lean efforts companywide to ensure waste is reduced.
9. Directs shipping department to ensure products are delivered to customers accurately and leaving a good impression upon arrival.
10. Performs other duties, assignments, and special projects that may be required from time to time.

Required Experience

• Minimum five (5) in operational quality in manufacturing industry
• Minimum five (5) years people management experience 
• Five (5) years training and practical experience in Lean concepts, principles, and implementation highly desirable

Skills Required 

• Demonstrated experience/results in Quality System tools and Problem-Solving. Strong working knowledge of Lean.
• Must have demonstrated leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated analysis, presentation and facilitation skills required.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or technical degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
• Previous experience with ISO certification and compliance preferred

Anticipated Salary Range:  $120,000 - $140,000
